“Dobro došli u Zemun”: Crkva Svetog Dimitrija – Hariševa kapela

U serijalu tekstova “Dobro došli u Zemun” koji slede predstavićemo Vam lokacije koje u Zemunu, koje nikoga do sada nisu ostavile ravnodušnim. Ova opština nudi sve što čoveka zanima počevši od istorijskih građevina i ličnosti, noćni život, prelepu arhitekturu, čak i skrivene delove na prvi pogled neistražene, i jednostavno, svoj jedinstveni duh.

Crkva Svetog Dimitrija ili Hariševa kapela nalazi se na pravoslavnom groblju na Gardošu.

Kapelu je podigao trgovac Grigorije Hariš na osnovu zaveštenja svoje supruge Marije, rođene Petrović. Sveti Dimitrije bio je zaštitnik te porodice. Njegova supruga smatra se ktitorom.

Tokom Prvog svetskog rata je srušena, a ponovo podignuta 1931. Projektovana u neovizantiskom stilu. Kapela je svedočila dešavanjima u Zemunu i zato se smatra istorijskom hramom.

The Church of Saint Demetrius or Harish’s Chapel is located at the Orthodox cemetery in Gardoš.

The chapel was built by the merchant Grigorije Hariš on the basis of the bequest of his wife Maria, née Petrović. Saint Dimitrije was the patron saint of that family. His wife is considered the founder.

It was demolished during the First World War, and rebuilt in 1931. It was designed in a neo-Byzantine style. The chapel witnessed the events in Zemun and is therefore considered a historical temple.
