What certainly marks this municipality and what it is most famous for is the fortress. According to the evidence found by archaeologists, it is believed that man lived on this rock even in the period 19,000-15,000 BC. Different cultures took turns in this area, from the Celts, Romans, Turks to today’s inhabitants.

According to some sources, the fortress built by the Romans in the 5th century was demolished by the Huns. Time passed, the fortress was demolished and rebuilt throughout history, but it remained in its place. Today, this is a beautiful tourist attraction where you will go back in time by looking at the details that have been preserved. You can talk about all this with your friends during a break in some of the restaurants with a unique view of the river and the newer, more urban part of the city, the beautiful Novi Sad.
