“Duhovne znamenitosti Novog Sada”: Rimokatolička Crkva Svetog Jurja

Crkva sv. Jurja u Petrovaradinu izgrađena je 1714. godine. Nakon teranja Turaka, isusovački red katoličke crkve dolaze na ideju da ponovo šire hrišćanstvo na ovim prostorima. Počinju sa izgradnjom crkve koja je trajala skoro 14 godina. Sagrađena je po uzoru na glavnu isusovačku crkvu iz Rima, a nekada je krasila mlečno bela boja fasade.

Unutrašnost Crkve krasi slika Svetog Jurja, zaštitnika vojnika.

Church of St. Jurja in Petrovaradin was built in 1714. After the expulsion of the Turks, the Jesuit order of the Catholic Church came up with the idea of spreading Christianity again in these areas. They start with the construction of the church, which lasted almost 14 years. It was built according to the model of the main Jesuit church from Rome, and it is decorated with a milky white color of the facade.

The interior of the Church is decorated with a painting of Saint George, the patron saint of soldiers.
