“Moj dan u Knjaževcu”: Crkva Svetog Đorđa

Crkva je sazidana 1833. godine i ima oblik kakav su imale crkve obrenovićevskog perioda. Sagradio ju je Miloš Obrenović. Unutar crkve čuva se jevanđelje koje ima interesantnu istoriju. Jevanđelje je poklon kneza Miloša i čuva se od 1805. godine. U riznici se takođe čuvaju srebrni krst i dve ikone Isusa Hrista i Svetog Nikole.

Za potrebe izgradnje crkve korišćeni su delovi nadgrobnih spomenika sa groblja. Groblje je pripadalo selu Koželj, tako da je crkva građena od kamena.

Zvonik sa satom podignut je 1866. godine. Ikonostas crkve naslikao je Georgije Bakalović iz Sremskih Karlovaca.

Ovaj spomenik kulture na ulaznim vratima ima spomen ploču koja je posvećena učesnicima koji su staradali u Timočkoj buni, povodom oslobođenja od Turaka.

Parts of tombstones from the cemetery were used for the purpose of building the church. The cemetery belonged to the village of Koželj, so the church was built of stone.

The bell tower with the clock was built in 1866. The iconostasis of the church was painted by Georgije Bakalović from Sremski Karlovac.

 This cultural monument has a commemorative plaque at the front door dedicated to the participants who served in the Timočka Uprising, on the occasion of liberation from the Turks.
