U serijalu tekstova “Dobro došli u Zemun” koji slede predstavićemo Vam lokacije koje u Zemunu, koje nikoga do sada nisu ostavile ravnodušnim. Ova opština nudi sve što čoveka zanima počevši od istorijskih građevina i ličnosti, noćni život, prelepu arhitekturu, čak i skrivene delove na prvi pogled neistražene, i jednostavno, svoj jedinstveni duh.
Crkva Svetog Oca Nikolaja ili poznatija kao Nikolajevska crkva ižgrađena je u 18. veku. Gradnja je otpočela 1745. godine i to na temeljima hrama koji je nastao u 16. veku.
Ovaj pravoslavni hram nalazi se ispod tvrđave Gardoš, u Starom jezgru Zemuna. Plan za izgradnjom crkve na ovom mestu nastao je ubrzo nakon proterivanja Turaka sa ovih prostora, a velikom željom stanovništva pravoslavne veroispovesti. Dugo godina u porti crkve postojala je i škola.

The Church of Saint Father Nicholas, or better known as the Nicholas Church, was built in the 18th century. Construction began in 1745 on the foundations of a temple that was built in the 16th century. This Orthodox temple is located under the Gardoš fortress, in the Old Core of Zemun. The plan to build a church in this place was created shortly after the expulsion of the Turks from this area, and with the great desire of the Orthodox population. For many years there was also a school in the gate of the church.
