Ulica Tošin bunar prolazi kroz dve opštine, Novi Beograd i Zemun.

This municipality offers everything a person is interested in, starting with historical buildings and personalities, nightlife, beautiful architecture, even hidden parts unexplored at first glance, and simply, its unique spirit.

Tošin Bunar Street passes through two municipalities, Novi Beograd and Zemun. It starts in Ivićeva Street (Zemun) and ends at Zemunska Street in New Belgrade.

Once upon a time, the marshy part was exceptionally reminiscent of Belgrade’s Jatagan mala, and ended near the village of Bežanije. This street is remembered as the “Road to Bežania”, as the old people of Zemun called it, until Teodor Toša Apostolović appeared and built a well. At that time, this place was the center of events and very popular. There were Toša’s vineyards, which after bequeathed to the church at his death, while next to the famous well there was also the favorite tavern of many, Toša bunar. It is mentioned that the street got this name while Toša was alive, and that it changed its name only during the occupation of the Germans. Then it got the name Geringova Street.

According to the stories of older fellow citizens, it is believed that Toša, in order to regain his sight, released a barrel from Bežanija’s hair and dug a well at the place where it stopped. The storm stopped near the present-day Student Town and a well was dug in that place, where there was water that cured the sight, and it is believed that it was while washing with it that Toša regained his sight.

The well was buried after World War II.
