“Dobro došli u Zemun”: Crkva Svetog Arhanđela Mihaila i Gavrila

U serijalu tekstova “Dobro došli u Zemun” koji slede predstavićemo Vam lokacije koje u Zemunu, koje nikoga do sada nisu ostavile ravnodušnim. Ova opština nudi sve što čoveka zanima počevši od istorijskih građevina i ličnosti, noćni život, prelepu arhitekturu, čak i skrivene delove na prvi pogled neistražene, i jednostavno, svoj jedinstveni duh.

Ova crkva nalazi se u prelepom Zemunskom parku i u srcu je svakog lokalca. Mnogi poznati zemunci kršteni su u ovoj svetinji.

Crkvu je podigao Teodor – Toša Apostolović 1786. godine, a građena je sa elementima baroknog stila. Od prve polovine 20.veka pa sve do kraja Drugog Svetskog rata, ovde je služila ruska crkva, jer je veliki broj ruskih izbeglica došlo u ove krajeve. U drugoj polovini 20. veka crkva je bila poprilično zapuštena, sve dok je nije obnovio jeromonah Filaret 1981. godine. Ispred same Crkve Svetog Arhanđela Mihaila i Gavrila nalazi se spomenik kao poklon Jugoslaviji od Jermenskog naroda, za pomoć koja im je pružena tokom zemljotresa 1988. godine.

This church is located in the beautiful Zemun Park and is in the heart of every local. Many famous people from Zemun were baptized in this sanctuary. The church was built by Teodor – Toša Apostolović in 1786, and it was built with elements of the Baroque style. From the first half of the 20th century until the end of the Second World War, the Russian church served here, because a large number of Russian refugees came to these parts. In the second half of the 20th century, the church was quite neglected, until it was restored by hieromonk Filaret in 1981. In front of the Church of Saint Michael and Gabriel, there is a monument as a gift to Yugoslavia from the Armenian people, for the help they received during the 1988 earthquake.
