“Dobro došli u Zemun”: Gardoš

U serijalu tekstova “Dobro došli u Zemun” koji slede predstavićemo Vam lokacije koje u Zemunu, koje nikoga do sada nisu ostavile ravnodušnim. Ova opština nudi sve što čoveka zanima počevši od istorijskih građevina i ličnosti, noćni život, prelepu arhitekturu, čak i skrivene delove na prvi pogled neistražene, i jednostavno, svoj jedinstveni duh.

Arheološkim iskopavanjem na području Gardoša i Zemuna došlo se do saznanja da su ovde živeli stanovnici u doba vinčanske kulture. Tu se prostiralo i rimsko naselje Taurunum, odmah ispred uzvišice.

Naziv Zemun ovaj deo grada dobija dolaskom Slovena koji u srednjem veku formiraju utvrđenje radi lakše kontrole dešavanja na Dunavu. Vremenom u tom području nastaju naselja. Tu su pronađeni i keltski grobovi pa se na osnovu toga došlo do zaključka da ime znači grobnice. Druga teorija je da označava grad ali da je pojavom Mađara dodat OŠ nastavak.

Gardoš se graniči sa Ćukovcem, Donjim i Gornjim gradom i oni čine centar Zemuna.

Na Gardošu se svako leto unazad 20 godina odvija manifestacija Leto na Gardošu, gde se održavaju predstave za decu i razni koncerti. Sve do izgradnje Pinkija, na mestu letnje pozornice su se orgnizovali bokserski mečevi, sa profesionalnim ringom.

Gardoš krase kaldrmisane ulice i male kućiće sa ugostiteljskim objektima.

This municipality offers everything a person is interested in, starting with historical buildings and personalities, nightlife, beautiful architecture, even hidden parts unexplored at first glance, and simply, its unique spirit.

Archaeological excavations in the area of Gardoš and Zemun revealed that inhabitants lived here during the Vinča culture. The Roman settlement of Taurunum was located there, right in front of the hill.

The name Zemun was given to this part of the city by the arrival of the Slavs, who in the Middle Ages formed a fort for easier control of events on the Danube. Over time, settlements were created in that area. Celtic graves were also found there, so it was concluded that the name means tombs. Another theory is that it means a city, but with the appearance of the Hungarians, the suffix OS was added.

Gardoš borders Ćukovac, Donji and Gornji grad and they form the center of Zemun.

Every summer for the past 20 years, the Summer on Gardoš event has been held in Gardoš, where performances for children and various concerts are held. Until the construction of Pinki, boxing matches were organized on the site of the summer stage, with a professional ring.

Gardoš is decorated with cobbled streets and small houses with catering facilities.
