The people of Novi Sad call it the cathedral because it is the largest in the whole country, although the real one is in Subotica. The first was modest and was created in the 18th century. During the bombing, it was damaged a lot, so a restoration was ordered, which the majority of Novi Sad Catholics were not satisfied with.

In 1891, work began on the new one, the old one was demolished, and in a few years, the new one shone. The facade is decorated with yellow bricks that stand out.
