Portal Glas Nacije in the series of texts "My day in Knjaževac" will take you to this place to present you the cultural and other sights of the city.

A castle on top of a hill in Knjaževac?

"Jervin's Villa" is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable symbols of the Principality.

It was built on the land of Tasa Cvetković, a merchant from Knjaževac. Đorđe Cvetković Đoka was a famous cafe owner who owned the famous Belgrade tavern "Kolarac" and he invested almost a million dinars at the time, in order to show his power.

It is believed to have been built on the model of a castle in Austria or the Czech Republic. It reminds of the castles that were built a few decades ago, all over Europe.

The villa has a ground floor, two floors, as well as a lookout point and a tower. The luxurious building is white in color with burgundy decorations on the facade. It had its own water supply, sewage system and water tank, as well as clay furnaces and equipped with the most expensive Czech sanitary facilities. At the top is a tower built in the romantic style.

It is recorded that the villa was inherited by Cvetković's maid in her will, which was later bought by an agricultural combine, and eventually bought by a private company from Knjaževa.

Today it is privately owned and is quite neglected. The wooden stairs have rotted and it is very dangerous to walk on them, the tiles have been torn from the walls, and the doors and windows are broken. The walls are covered with graffiti, and the entrance is free, although there is no one to guard it. While there used to be a vineyard around the villa, today vegetation and weeds have grown there, and Jervin's settlement is located below.

Is this villa really at the mercy of the gods? We hope better days are ahead for her.
